Julian Gross was born in Los Angeles and raised in the Venice/Mar Vista era in the 80s and 90s. He grew up skating and doing graffiti (AWR), before graduating from Cal Arts in 2000 with a BFA in art. He worked as a graphic designer for three years until In 2003 he connected with the Brooklyn based band Liars, becoming the group’s art director and drummer. A decade of wildness later, in 2013, Gross quit Liars to return his focus to the visual arts, working as a graphic designer, artist, and art director for other bands. Gross describes himself as a “simple man who likes to make stuff and hang out w his son.
