Eleanor Friedberger

Eleanor Friedberger is a musician from Oak Park, IL. She formed The Fiery Furnaces with her brother Matthew in New York City in 2000, recorded nine albums and toured extensively throughout North America, Europe and Australia. Since 2011 she has released four critically acclaimed solo albums. In 2020 The Fiery Furnaces released their first single in over a decade, "Down at the So and So on Somewhere" on Third Man Records. Iggy Pop called them "a gift to cool, alt music" and described Eleanor as "wonderful and extremely chic, elusive and clever". This year also saw the premiere of the feature-length film Slow Machine at the New York Film Festival in which Eleanor plays a musician named Eleanor.
